Towards Social Intelligence in Autonomous Robotics: A Review
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper aims to provide grounding for the development of social intelligence in autonomous mobile robots by highlighting that little has been done in developing an explicit social framework for a team of robots engaged in collaborative work. Only recently has work been undertaken on developing social attributes and functionality in robotics [23] [16]. This review provides a somewhat historical perspective of artificial intelligence research in autonomous mobile robotics from classical approaches through “New AI” to a discussion of the foundation issues for implementing a degree of explicit social functionality. Key-Words: Social robots, social intelligence, embodiment, emotion

Autonomous development and learning in artificial intelligence and robotics: Scaling up deep learning to human-like learning
Autonomous lifelong development and learning are fundamental capabilities of humans, differentiating them from current deep learning systems. However, other branches of artificial intelligence have designed crucial ingredients towards autonomous learning: curiosity and intrinsic motivation, social learning and natural interaction with peers, and embodiment. These mechanisms guide exploration an...

This paper describes conception of social robot system as self-organizing system. Distributed autonomous robot system is not autonomous as a group, if the system totally depends on the external intervention to maintain its fundamental function. We discuss the meaning of autonomy for group robot system and a concept of collective autonomy as a fundamental framework for design of the social robot...

This paper proposes a research direction to study the development ofàrtii-cial social intelligence' of autonomous robots which should result inìndividual-ized robot societies'. The approach is highly inspired by thèsocial intelligence hypothesis', derived from the investigation of primate societies, suggesting that primate intelligence originally evolved to solve social problems and was only la...

متن کاملTowards Adaptive and Autonomous Robots Developing Visually Guided Object Manipulation on the iCub Humanoid
Although robotics has seen advances over the last decades they are still not in wide-spread use outside industrial applications. Proposed scenarios for robots range from cleaning tasks, grocery shopping to elderly care, helping in a hospital, etc. These involve the robots working together, helping and coexisting with humans in daily life. From this the need to deal with a more unstructured envi...
